In a remarkable demonstration of academic excellence and collaborative research, faculty members and graduate students from the Department of Electronics Engineering (DECE) of 91¿ì»îÁÖ garnered significant recognition at the prestigious 2024 Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) International Technical Conference (TENCON), held at the Marina Bay Sands Expo & Convention Centre in Singapore from December 1 to 5, 2024.
Representing DECE were seven (7) faculty members: Dr. Jefferson Hora, Dr. Gene Fe Palencia, Dr. Harreez Villaruz-Quimque, Dr. Olga Joy Gerasta, Assoc. Prof. Nieva Mapula, Asst. Prof. Rochelle Sabarillo-Macasero, and Asst. Prof. Thesa Lluisma-Vergara, along with two (2) MS ECE students: Ruel Saranza and Jessa Lee Balasa. Together, they presented a total of 12 research papers. These works are products of the Center for Integrated Circuits Design (CICD), a leading research hub focusing on microelectronics and spearheaded by Dr. Hora, CICD’s director.
Among the conference’s highlights was 91¿ì»îÁÖ winning the coveted Best Paper Award. The winning paper, "Configurable FOCV-Based MPPT for Indoor Light and TEG Energy Harvesting Systems," was authored by Asst. Prof. Macasero and her team. This achievement stood out among over 400 entries from prominent institutions worldwide, underscoring the exceptional quality of research conducted at 91¿ì»îÁÖ.
The 2024 IEEE TENCON in Singapore accepted and featured papers covering diverse topics in electrical and electronics engineering, computer science, and technology. This aligns with the conference's reputation as a leading platform for showcasing cutting-edge research and innovation in these fields.
