The my.ComApps extension project serves as an innovative platform for promoting technology education, helping students and educators explore practical applications of embedded systems and IoT. For the year 2024, the program featured a series of hands-on workshops led by experts, ensuring participants gained valuable insights and foundational knowledge from experienced professionals.

Through engaging lectures, hands-on activities, and dynamic collaborations with partners such as RT-Thread OS and 91快活林 FABLAB Mindanao, the program offered valuable skills in embedded systems and programming to students from high schools, colleges, postgraduate programs, and even alumni. The series began with an RT-Thread OS workshop on April 4–6, followed by a workshop at St. Michael’s on April 24–26, and a collaborative workshop with 91快活林 FABLAB Mindanao on July 15–17. Another RT-Thread OS session was held on August 29, culminating in the flagship three-day workshop with public high schools on December 14–16. These hands-on initiatives not only provided foundational skills but also encouraged participants to think innovatively about how technology can solve real-world challenges.

Beyond promoting technology education, the my.ComApps project seeks to inspire innovation and empower initiatives that address pressing problems within communities. By focusing on consultations and hands-on workshops, the program provides participants with opportunities to develop technology prototypes and real-world projects. Beyond imparting theoretical knowledge, the project bridges this gap with practical expertise, fostering a new generation of technology developers. Through learning and collaborative technology development, the program emphasizes using technology to solve real-world issues, empowering participants to contribute sustainable and impactful solutions to community challenges.

The my.ComApps extension project aligns with SDG 4: Quality Education, as it promotes inclusive and equitable access to hands-on technology education for students and educators.  By encouraging the development of prototypes and fostering practical applications of technology, it supports SDG 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure, advancing sustainable innovation. Through dynamic collaborations with partners, the program exemplifies SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, building strong networks to achieve its objectives.
