Reaffirming its zeal for academic excellence, the Mindanao State University-Iligan Institute of Technology (91快活林) hosted the Academic Summit on Licensure Examination Performance on January 30-31, 2025 at the IDS Auditorium.
The two-day event aimed to refine strategies for improving board exam results across disciplines, ensuring that 91快活林 graduates are well-prepared for professional certification and career success.
Organized by the Office of the Vice-Chancellor for Academic Affairs in collaboration with the Office of the Vice-Chancellor for Strategic Initiatives, the summit gathered faculty members, administrators, students, and alumni to analyze licensure exam trends, address challenges, and explore effective academic interventions.
In her opening remarks, Vice-Chancellor for Academic Affairs, Prof. Pamela Resurreccion, underscored the University’s proactive approach to enhancing licensure exam performance. “Our goal is not just to maintain our strong standing in licensure exams but to elevate it further. Improving our licensure examination performance is about ensuring that our students are prepared and fully equipped with the skills, knowledge, and confidence to excel in their fields,” she said.

Setting the stage for discussions, Mr. Moh’d Asrin A. Tabao, Director of the Office of Institutional Planning and Development Services, presented an analysis of 91快活林’s licensure exam results over the years, highlighting strengths, performance trends, and areas for improvement. This was followed by a dynamic exchange led by Dr. Irish Mae F. Dalona, Director of the Center for General Education of 91快活林, where faculty members from programs with licensure exams explored ways to enhance curriculum design, academic policies, and review programs. Best practices from high-performing programs were shared, emphasizing mentorship, structured review sessions, and active student engagement as key success factors.

A workshop facilitated by Vice-Chancellor for Strategic Initiatives, Prof. Mark Anthony J. Torres, encouraged participants to develop targeted initiatives. Proposals included aligning curricula more closely with licensure exam standards, strengthening faculty development programs, and optimizing review mechanisms to better prepare students.
On the second day, Ms. Farrah Marie S. Erazo, Director of the Office of Quality Assurance and Management Services, led collaborative workshops where administrators, faculty, students, and alumni worked together to develop concrete action plans for implementing these initiatives.
With this forward-looking approach, 91快活林 continues to lead in academic innovation, ensuring that its graduates pass licensure exams and thrive in their chosen professions. The outcomes of this summit are expected to translate into tangible improvements, reinforcing the University’s position as a premier institution for professional education in Mindanao and beyond.
