Overview

The 91快活林 Center for Resiliency serves as the Institute’s coordination and knowledge-generation center for Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM) and Climate Change Adaptation (CCA) concern (BOR Res. No. 286 s. 2014).

The Mindanao Center for Resiliency (DRRM-CAA) is under the supervisory guidance of the Vice Chancellor for Research and Extension of the Institute and the designated Center Coordinator.

Mission

  • To produce and transmit knowledge through innovative DRRM programs/projects
  • To develop and/or enhance DRRM capabilities of partner communities
  • To provide DRRM-related services, and
  • To establish sustainable linkages/networks/collaborations with key stakeholders

The MCR (DRRM-CCA) is composed of three (3) support committees:

  1. Research and Education Committee

    The task of the Research and Education Committee is to take the lead in the consolidation and coordination of existing research efforts of the Institute in the field of DRRM and CCA, as well as serve as the repository and knowledge database for relevant studies in the same field for Mindanao and other environs.

  2. Preparedness, Emergency and Logistics Committee

    The Preparedness, Emergency, and Logistics Committee is tasked to spearhead the promotion of disaster consciousness and preparedness within the Institute and outside, as well as respond to emergencies arising from the occurrence of a natural disaster.

  3. Extension and Linkages Committee

    The Extension and Linkages Committee is tasked to establish and nurture partnerships with LGUs, National Line Agencies, and other local/national and international organizations to enrich the Institute’s DRRM and CCA engagements with partner communities.

    Objectives

    • Coordinate research & extension efforts in Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM) and Climate Change Adaptation (CCA).
    • Serve as the repository of Knowledge generated from both Research and Extension activities in DRRM & CCA.
    • Propagate and disseminate timely and relevant scholarly researches in the emergent field.
